Voters Give Democratic Congress Low Grades In New Poll
Republicans are touting a new Gallup poll tonight that shows a majority of Americans are disappointed in how the Democratic Congress has handled Iraq and immigration.
It's one of the few polls of late that might give the GOP some hope on key issues, as Republicans have trailed in many polls, issue by issue, for most of this year.
Check out the polling data for more details.
The bottom line is that 65 percent of those polled by Gallup are "disappointed" or "angry" about how Democrats have handled immigration issues, and 68 percent are either disappointed or angry about how the new majority has dealt with Iraq. The latter number reflects disappointment from both Democrats who wish their party leaders had done more to end the war, as well as Republicans who still support the war.
Democrats get higher marks on their handling of terrorism, with a majority of those polled saying they were "pleased" or "neutral" with the majority party. Democrats also fared better in their handling of the economy.
