Van Halen announces tour dates and album details

(CBS) Van Halen is ready to take the show on the road. Details have emerged about the reunited group's new album and upcoming 2012 tour.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will hit the road on Feb. 18 in Louisville, Ky., hitting major cities, including New York, Chicago and Boston, before winding down June 26 in New Orleans, La.

Kool & The Gang will open up for Van Halen on select tour dates. Tickets start going on sale for some shows on Jan. 14.

Van Halen's new album, "A Different Kind Of Truth," will be out on Feb. 7, with the first single, "Tattoo," surfacing Jan. 10. It marks the band's first original studio album with singer David Lee Roth since 1984.

The reunited group, featuring Roth on vocals, will perform both new songs, along with such classic hits as "Eruption," "Running with the Devil," "Jamie's Cryin'," "You Really Got Me," "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love," "Everybody Wants Some," "And The Cradle Will Rock," "Beautiful Girls," "Jump," "Panama," "Hot For Teacher" and more.

The line-up will feature Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, bassist Wolfgang Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen. Original bassist Michael Anthony won't be taking part.
