U.S.: 2 Dead In Iraq Helicopter Crash

The two crew members of an Apache helicopter that crashed southwest of Baghdad are resumed dead and efforts to recover their bodies are continuing, the U.S. military said.

A U.S. statement said the attack helicopter was believed to have been shot down about 5:30 p.m. Saturday near Youssifiyah about 12 miles southwest of Baghdad. "Two pilots are presumed dead, but recovery efforts continue following the crash," the statement said.

Saturday, A U.S. statement said the helicopter had been conducting a "combat air patrol," but did not give the type of aircraft nor the number of crew members nor the precise area where it went down.

No other details were released.
