U.K. Police Arrest Amy Winehouse

Singer Amy Winehouse was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attempting to interfere with a court case involving her husband, Sky News reported.

Police would not confirm the report but said a 24-year-old was arrested during an appointment at a police station in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice. The 24-year-old singer's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is awaiting trial on assault charges and has also been charged with trying to interfere with a witness in relation to that case.

During the past two years, Winehouse has gotten more publicity as a troubled diva than she has for her critically-acclaimed album, "Back To Black."

Some observers think she knows exactly what she's doing.

"Amy Winehouse is a very clever girl," Sky News entertainment critic Neil Sean told The CBS Early Show last week. "She knows, when she's pictured looking the tragic diva, wiping her nose as she comes out of a hotel, wandering the streets at three in the morning, she knows that's front page news."

Winehouse, a soulful R&B/pop singer, nabbed a total of six 2008 Grammy nominations in the top categories record of the year, song of the year - for "Rehab" - and album of the year for "Back To Black." She was also nominated for best new artist and best female pop vocal performance.
