UEFA Sets Ticket Prices For Euro 2012 Matches

NYON, Switzerland (AP) - The cheapest tickets for next year's European Championship in Poland and Ukraine will be 30 euros ($40), 50 percent less than for the 2008 tournament in Austria and Switzerland.

Tickets for the final on July 1 in Kiev range from 50-600 euros ($68-$810), the Union of European Football Associations said Tuesday.

Polish and Ukrainian residents' ability to pay was considered when setting the prices for the 31 matches, according to UEFA. Tickets for first-round matches will cost 30-120 euros ($40-$160), except for the opening game, which will sell for 45-250 euros ($56-$313). Quarterfinals sell for 40-150 euros ($50-$188), and semifinals for 45-270 ($56-$338).

Polish and Ukrainian residents can pay in local currency and fans elsewhere must pay in euros.

Tickets for the general public are being sold from March 1-31 exclusively on UEFA's website.
