Two Overseas Press Club awards for "60 Minutes"
"60 Minutes" is the winner of two awards from the Overseas Press Club for stories it reported in the Middle East and along the U.S. border with Mexico. The two awards recognize three stories and will be given out Thursday evening, April 28, at an event hosted by the Overseas Press Club in New York's Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
Scott Pelley's report on a canal running along the U.S.-Mexico border where hundreds of illegal immigrants drowned trying to enter the country, wins "The Joe and Laurie Dine Award for Best Reporting Dealing with Human Rights." "The All American Canal" was produced by Shawn Efran; the associate producer is Catherine Herrick and it was edited by Terry Manning.

Two of Lesley Stahl's reports win the "The Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Interpretation on International Affairs." "Unfinished Business," about the many sources of conflict that could erupt in Iraq once the U.S. military leaves, was produced by Richard Bonin.
