Two Miners Trapped Underground in Chile
Two miners were trapped underground Monday in the Chilean desert, near the site where 33 miners were rescued earlier this month, Reuters reported.
Ximena Matas, an official in the Atacama region, told Reuters that at least two people were trapped in a very small mine - only big enough to fit a few workers - 30 miles east of Copiapo. The accident might have involved explosives.

"One person escaped and he is at the hospital giving a statement," Matas said.
Matas could not confirm reports that one miner was killed in the accident.
The dramatic rescue of the 33 miners in mid-October - 69 days after they were initially trapped - captured worldwide attention.
