Two guilty of "heroin-in-greeting-cards" trick at Texas prison

When you care to send the very best - heroin? CBS

(CBS/AP) LAREDO, Texas - It's probably not what Hallmark had in mind.

Greeting cards that contained heroin sent to a South Texas prison inmate could land both the sender and the intended recipient behind bars for up to 10 years.

A federal judge in Laredo on Monday accepted guilty pleas from 36-year-old Norma Alicia Flores-Recio and 44-year-old Oscar Segura.

Guards intercepted three cards that contained drugs.

Flores-Recio pleaded guilty to providing heroin to Segura when he was an inmate in the Webb County Jail. He pleaded guilty to attempting to obtain heroin while jailed.

Both remain in custody pending sentencing. It's not clear why Segura was originally jailed.
