Two Actors Visit 'The Grey Zone'

What would you do if forced to help kill humans in exchange for a few more months of life?

That is the question many faced in a new film, "The Grey Zone," which is based on the true story of Jewish concentration camp prisoners given the harrowing moral dilemma of helping to exterminate other Jews in exchange for four more months of life.

David Arquette and Mira Sorvino, part of the film's strong ensemble cast, visit The Early Show to discuss the film's serious topic.

"The Grey Zone" is the story of Auschwitz's twelfth Sonderkommando — one of the 13 consecutive 'Special Squads' of Jewish prisoners placed by the Nazis in the excruciating moral dilemma of helping to exterminate fellow Jews.

The film chronicles the Sonderkommando's struggle to organize the only armed revolt that would ever take place at Auschwitz. As the rebellion is about to commence, a group from the unit discovers a 14-year-old girl who has survived a gassing. The men become obsessed with saving the child, even as doing so endangers the uprising of Auschwitz, which could save thousands.

"The Grey Zone" opens in New York and Los Angeles on Oct. 18.
