Two 12-year-old N.J. girls reportedly under police investigation for "hit list" video
(CBS) PATERSON, N.J. - Two 12-year-old girls are under police investigation for making a 20-minute video in which they threaten to murder other classmates and school administrators, reports CBS New York.
In the video, which has been taken off of YouTube, the girls reveal a "hit list" of people they'd like to kill.
"Wouldn't you guys think I'd be the best assassin ever?" asks one girl. The rant goes on for about 20 minutes.
The girls laugh often, but WCBS reports parents of the children named are not taking this as a joke.
"My daughter had called me crying hysterically around 11:30, telling me 'Mommy, this girl just told me that she's gonna kill me," one parent told the station.
WCBS reports that school officials did not consider the threats serious until parents stepped forward. The two girls have been suspended and are reportedly receiving a medical evaluation.
