TPM Morphs Election Channel Into New Capitol Hill Blog; Adds Portfolio's Cooper

Political sites had great run the past year, as one of the most anticipated and expensive campaigns was waged. With today's inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States, these sites hope to capitalize on interest in what the new administration and new Congress. And so, Josh Marshall's TPM has unveiled a new politics blog, TPMDC.com, the successor to its election blog, TPM Election Central. Former Time magazine reporter Matt Cooper is moving over from Cond Nast's Portfolio. Aside from the high profile DC reporter, eight-year-old TPM plans to add at least one more reporter-blogger for the new Capitol Hill site. More details in post on TPM's blog here.
