Tommy Hilfiger Goes Parisian

French and international celebrities were in Paris on Wednesday evening to celebrate the recent opening of Tommy Hilfiger's first store in the French capital.

Hilfiger, 55, arrived earlier than his guests to make sure everything in the store was to his liking. He spent time selecting clothing to dress up the mannequins before taking time off to get himself ready for the evening.

"You know, it is a dream come true," he said of the opening. "I've been looking for a location in Paris for such a long time. To be in the fashion capital of the world is so meaningful, because now I'm in the heart of it."

Actress Kate Bosworth, speaking about the Tommy Hilfiger brand from the store, said: "I think it's just very cool — chic American. You know what I mean. It's so great to have this store opening in Paris, because Paris is chic."

Following cocktails, a party was held at the prestigious Musee des Beaux Arts on the Rive Gauche. About 1,000 guests turned up to enjoy the evening and listen to a short concert put on by rock star Lenny Kravitz.

Arriving at the party, actress Lindsay Lohan said, "I've known Tommy Hilfiger since I was very young, and I made a promise to him to DJ. I'm not sure how I got myself into this, but I love Paris."

As part of the Tommy Hilfiger global expansion, the brand also has opened stores in Florence and Milan. A London branch is set to open soon.
