(CBS/WCBS/AP) NEW YORK - It appears the search for missing New York mother Tina Adovasio may have taken a tragic turn, following a grim discovery in Westchester County.

The body of a woman was discovered in a wooded area by a person riding an all-terrain vehicle. According to CBS affiliate WCBS, there is no official confirmation of the identity of the body as of Thursday morning.

However, the 40-year-old mother of four had been reported missing Saturday by her husband, ex-cop Edwin Coelho, who has a history of domestic violence.

WCBS reported that the couple had fought the night before Adovasio went missing. Neighbors said the fact the two were heard fighting was not unusual.

"We heard the neighbors, this lady and this gentleman fighting here a couple of days ago," neighbor Ruben Cordero told the station. "I've heard them fighting constantly the last two weeks."

Police had been called to the couple's home in the Bronx at least four times.

Coelho was fired from the police department over a decade ago after similar incidents of domestic violence with his first wife.

WCBS reports that investigators had been seen removing evidence - including possible DNA samples - from the apartment. They were also checking the halls and stairways for possible evidence that a body had been moved.

Several published reports, including by the New York Daily News, claim Coelho is expected to turn himself in Thursday morning.
