This Week: It Was A Hairy One

This week made it clear that being a celebrity isn't all glitz and glamour.

It all started Sunday when the normally bright and shiny Golden Globe awards turned out dull and lifeless after the Writers Guild of America strike forced organizers to go with a press conference instead of the annual gala dinner.

Amy Winehouse debuted her new blonde and disheveled 'do in a London courtroom. The troubled pop star was on hand to support her husband, who faces assault and witness-tampering charges.

Britney Spears wigged out when she was mobbed by paparazzi outside a Los Angeles courthouse where a hearing was taking place in her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline. The media frenzy was so intense, Spears was "trembling," according to the head of a paparazzi agency who says he spoke with the pop star's new boyfriend. She left without attending the hearing, and her visitation rights to her two kids remain suspended.

Lindsay Lohan will be working in an emergency room and a morgue as part of a court-ordered program to keep the actress on the straight and narrow after a misdemeanor drunken driving conviction. She's already spent two months in rehab and performed community service at the Red Cross as part of her sentence.

A video of Tom Cruise waxing enthusiastic about Scientology was leaked to the Internet this week. The video became the center of a battle between Scientology and the popular blog Gawker.

Prince William had a hairy moment at the start of his first solo flight this week. "I thought hopefully in a bit more than a year I will get up a bit of practice. Then the next thing I know my instructor jumps out and says 'go on, get on with it' and I was left there looking around going 'what?'" The prince landed just fine.

It was a close shave for O.J. Simpson this week, who was in court after prosecutors filed a motion to revoke the ex-football star's bail. The judge doubled Simpson's bail amount and gave him a stern warning not to do anything to violate the terms of his bail.

Fans who were rooting for the Dallas Cowboys Sunday were booing Jessica Simpson on Monday after their team lost to the New York Giants in the NFL playoffs. The pop star was blamed for distracting her boyfriend, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, by vacationing with him in Mexico on the eve of the playoffs.

Parents are tearing their hair out trying to get tickets for their kids to the new "Hannah Montana" movie, which is selling out quickly and prompting theaters to add more shows. This follows a sold-out concert tour that was very lucrative for ticket scalpers.
