This Week: An "Anatomy" Lesson

This week was like an episode of "Grey's Anatomy."

The bodies of certain celebrities were studied by the press and public with a level of scrutiny worthy of the surgical residents at Seattle Grace Hospital. There were patients in rehab, a discussion of plastic surgery, fallout from fatal accidents, and plenty of family drama.

The only thing missing was a little romance.

The "Grey's Anatomy" cast continued their winning streak with Screen Actors Guild awards for the cast and for actress Chandra Wilson.

Upon accepting her award, Wilson gave a shoutout to her castmate Isaiah Washington, who was in rehab after causing an uproar by using an anti-gay slur at the Golden Globes.

Fresh out of rehab was Miss USA Tara Conner, who admitted to using alcohol and cocaine.

Halfway through her 30-day outpatient rehab program is Lindsay Lohan, whose father reached out to her in a hand-written letter published by In Touch magazine this week.

Someone who might benefit from a stint in rehab is actor Lane Garrison, who played "Tweener" on "Prison Break."

Investigators said this week that Garrison had twice the legal blood alcohol limit and was also under the influence of cocaine when he drove into a tree Dec. 2, killing one of his passengers and injuring two others. The Beverly Hills Police Department recommended that the district attorney file gross vehicular manslaughter charges against the actor.

Singer-actress Brandy may also be facing charges of vehicular manslaughter after a young woman died in a car crash involving the singer. The woman's parents are suing Brandy for $50 million.

Meredith Grey drives boyfriend Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd crazy with her snoring on "Grey's Anatomy," and it turns out that actress Jennifer Aniston also had trouble with her nighttime breathing — until recently.

Aniston said in an interview that she's sleeping like a baby after having her deviated septum fixed. The operation kicked off rumors that Aniston had plastic surgery — and not just on her nose — but the actress says everything on her body is natural.

Perhaps the anatomy most closely scrutinized this week belonged to actor Daniel Radcliffe. The "Harry Potter" star showed the world he's all grown up by displaying his six-pack abs — among other things — in publicity photos for his naked role in the upcoming London production of "Equus."

The diagnosis? Young master Harry is all grown up.

Patrick Dempsey, who plays Dr. McDreamy on "Grey's Anatomy," was in the hospital this week, but for happy reasons. His wife Jillian gave birth to a pair of McTwins, boys Darby Galen and Sullivan Patrick Dempsey, on Thursday.
