The World's Greatest Sales Person: Video Contest
I just got word that the ad agency Ogilvy is running a contest to find the greatest sales person in the world. I think it would be pretty cool if the winner was one of you guys, so here's the skinny.
You make a video clip from 1 to 2 minutes long showing your sales pitch for the product, which is a red brick. Yes, a brick. The idea is if you can sell a brick, you can sell anything.
Once you've made a clip, you upload it to YouTube, where it will be judged by a team of executives from OgilvyOne, Ogilvy & Mather, IBM, and Salesforce.com.
The finalists go to Cannes, France to make presentations at a seminar, and then three finalists make a sales pitch for an actual product.
Here's what I'm thinking, though, about how to give Sales Machine readers a leg up. Since the videos will be posted on YouTube, there will probably be voting by viewers.
I'll identify the videos uploaded by Sales Machine readers and we can all view them multiple times and vote for them. That way we can influence the judges to go our way.
How does that sound to you? Any volunteers?
