"The Walking Dead" season 4 finale: "A"

The fourth season of "The Walking Dead" came to a close Sunday night, and while all the major characters survived the finale episode (simply titled "A"), they aren't exactly alive and well. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)

We pick up with Rick, Carl and Michonne as they traveled on to what they hoped was safety at Terminus. However, while en route, they run into a revenge-seeking Joe and the rest of his gang first -- Joe is determined to make Rick pay for killing one of their own.

Daryl, who'd recently joined up with Joe's group, tried to make peace, but was met with a vicious beating. Rick however, holds his own, and fought back with a violent vengeance -- biting into Joe's neck and stabbing another assailant (who'd pinned down Carl) over and over again.

After that bloody confrontation, Rick, Carl, Michonne and Daryl finally make it to Terminus. They bury their weapons in the woods and sneak into the compound, where they met Terminus leader Gareth. But something seems off about this place and, soon enough, Rick notices people inside the compound have items that once belonged to members of his group -- most notably, Hershel's pocket watch.

Rick confronts them and soon shots were fired -- lots of them. The quartet makes a run for it, managing to avoid every single gunshot, which seems ridiculous until you realize that was exactly the point: The Terminus people were not shooting to kill, they were shooting to corral them to another part of the compound and into a trap.

Eventually, they are forced to enter a train car, where they're reunited with Glenn, Maggie, Sasha, Bob, Eugene, Abraham, Rosita and Tara (Carol, Tyreese, Judith, and Beth are all still unaccounted for). It looks like the end of the road for all of them, but Rick refuses to go down without a fight.

"They're screwing with the wrong people," he said as the episode ends. We certainly hope so!

What do you think the people of Terminus are doing? And what will happen to the group from here? We'll have to wait until next season to find out.

Tell us: What did you think of the "Walking Dead" finale?
