The Top Five Apps for Android Newbies

Don't look now, but everybody's jumping on the Android bandwagon. Phones powered by the Google OS are the biggest thing since, well, phones powered by the Apple OS.

If you're a newcomer to the platform, you're probably wondering what apps you should get right away -- you know, the essentials. Times New World has you covered with 5 Android Apps That Every Android User Needs. First up: one of my personal favorites.

SugarSync: An android application that allows the user to synchronize content from multiple devices with the mobile phone. With just an Internet connection and a computer (PC, tablet or mobile) you can access anywhere, anytime all your documents, photos or files, these files can be synchronized in real time. A must have, for all mobile users who have more than one device.
Okay, so the grammar ain't great, but I do approve of the list (which also includes Barcode Scanner, Layar, and Photoshop).

Of course, those are just the tip of the must-have iceberg. I also highly recommend Kindle, Evernote, and, when you need a break, Angry Birds.

Your turn: what apps would you suggest for the owner of a shiny new Android phone?
