The Duggars are thinking about adoption

The Duggars could be "counting" more children soon. The TLC reality TV couple say they may consider adding to their already large brood.

"We are open to the idea of adoption," Michelle Duggar told People. "We are praying about it, and we will see what God has in store. Love for children has been placed on our hearts."

Michelle and her husband, Jim Bob, already have 19 children and two grandchildren. The couple's son, Josh, and his wife, Anna Duggar, recently announced they're expecting their third child. Josh, 25, is also featured on TLC's "19 Kids and Counting."

Michelle added, "We have friends that have adopted children who are a great influence in our lives, and we have talked about their experiences. So it's something we've considered."

Michelle, who had a miscarriage in 2011 when she was pregnant with her 20th child, told People, "We are open to whatever is in store. It doesn't really matter whether I would have another child or we would adopt, but we want to approach it with an open heart."

Jim Bob, meanwhile, said he's excited that Josh and Anna Duggar's family is growing: "It is neat to see their family expanding. I remember those days when Michelle and I went from one to three because we had Josh and then we had twins. It is a great start."
