The Brains Behind Survivor
His hit show Survivor just wrapped up one of the most successful summer runs in television history and producer Mark Burnett is riding high.
His book, Mark Burnett's The Survivor Official Companion Book, hit shelves this week, but as he told CBS News Saturday Early Show Anchor Russ Mitchell, if you are looking for a tell-all tome full of gossip and dirt, you'll have to wait.
Burnett says you won't find any dish in his book.
"There is no dirt in the book. I have a bond with the Survivors, that we don't do that to each other. Hence the secret didn't come out. I didn't burn anybody on the show. There's many things that could have been on the show that weren't, and they won't be in the book," Burnett said.
So what will readers be privy to as they flip through the pages?
"For people who liked the show, they'll love the book because it shows what was in the mind of myself and my production team as we were trying to make it," he said.
If Burnett had been on the island, he said, Richard might not have made it to the million. "Even though Sonja was weaker. I would go with what I thought was the right thing to do and when Richard sat in that tree, like a child, and pouted, I would have absolutely voted him off," Burnett said.
Burnett doesn't think Richard's strategic alliance will work for the second group of castaways.

But the new millionaire gets nothing but respect for his performance from the Executive Producer. "I like Richard. He just played a game. In real life, Richard's a great guy. He played the game tough though. He went to win and he won. You have to respect that."
Burnett isn't divulging too many secrets about Survivor II, but he promises,"a different cast...great location, brand new games, and a contact sport."
Survivor goes down under rigt after the Super Bowl on Jan. 28.
