(CBS/KYW) PHILADELPHIA - The target in an alleged Facebook murder-for-hire case was shot dead in West Philadelphia Monday night just hours after a hearing for two people who are being accused of conspiring to kill him.

Corey White, 22, was shot once in the chest, just a few blocks away from where he lived, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Monday afternoon, Municipal Judge Patrick Dugan held White's ex girlfriend London Eleye, 20, and Timothy Bynum, 18, for a trial on criminal solicitation for murder and attempted murder charges, reports the paper.

Philadelphia police allege that Eleye posted a message offering a "stack" to whoever would "kill [her] baby father," and police say someone intended to take her up on the offer.

Investigators say that Eleye posted the alleged solicitation in May and that the "stack" she offered was street slang for $1,000, according to CBS station KYW.

When police learned about the situation, they searched the home of the alleged hitman who they say was Bynum. Police say they found a .22 caliber handgun in Bynum's home.

Eleye and Bynum have been in jail since their arrests. Two weeks ago, White testified in an initial hearing against the two. Police said they are still investigating and could not say if White's murder was related to the murder-for-hire case.
