Survivor: Fiji
We start off this week at Ravus return after another tribal council. This tribe just cannot catch a break.
Earl, the team leader it seems to me, asks everyone to share their feelings and get it all out. What is this, "Survivor" or a therapy class? I would never get my feelings out this early in the game.
But, of course, Rocky takes the bait first and goes on a rant to Anthony about how he annoys the crap out of him and is too sensitive. I think at one point he compares Anthony to dealing with some "broads" or his mother or sister … interesting, I won't explore that further. Anthony tells us that he has a low self-esteem and breaks into a little teary action in his confessional. I thought it was nice and sweet, but most men I know would say that he was a wuss. Pick your side.
At Moto, or as I call them tribe "McMansion," they are up to their usual sun tanning and gaining weight. You know, normal "Survivor" stuff (as if).
Lisi tells us about a comfortable alliance she has with Stacy, Boo, Alex and Edgardo. Let's see how long that stays together considering it so early. Gary is still feeling ill and I feel really bad for the guy. Clearly, he is a fan of the game and I hate to see him go out because he is sick. Lisi shows us that she is heartless by saying she doesn't want to "baby sit" Gary if he is sick. Nice one, wicked witch.
Reward challenge time, which means time for McMansion tribe to win more food and get fatter — YEAH, fun times. The challenge is for the tribes to line up side by side on a balance beam and one by one they must pass their other team members and get to the other side of the balance beam, first tribe to get their whole team over wins fish, rice, spices, pillows, blankets and a KING size bed.
Ravu always has a great start but can't pull it together and loses again, which means more food for the team that needs it less than any tribe I have ever seen. They are excited and exile Yau Man.
Rocky flips out when they come back from the challenge. He is throwing things and yelling and, really, I don't blame him. I would be ticked, too. His team stinks and I imagine it's really frustrating to lose over and over. But if I were him, I would try and control that temper so he can stick around longer because he's great TV. He redeems himself a bit when he jumps around naked trying to get the tribe psyched up for the next challenge — GO commando!
Gary has reached his limit over at Moto. Dr. Ado and his medical team have to be called in and Gary is taken away on a stretcher and cannot return to the game. It's too bad and I hope one day he gets a second chance to play. Maybe now Lisi will stop bitching about him being sick.
Time for an immunity challenge, the most important challenge of the show. This challenge is a tough one and really confusing to explain, so bear with me.
Four members are locked in floating prison cells and one team member must swim and unlock one member at a time, then the unlocked member must do the same until all four team members are unlocked.
Does that make sense so far? I hope so, moving on.
Once all the tribe members are unlocked they must row and pick each one up going back to shore, then all the tribe members must form a human pyramid (Go, team! Couldn't resist I cheered in college) and unlock the top cage with their last tribe member in it.
First team to do that wins and gets to open a mystery bottle. Phew, did you catch all that?
Moto crushes Ravu AGAIN and wins the challenge. No big surprise here. But wait, the message in the "mystery" bottle says that if Moto wants to keep their immunity, they must live at Ravus crappy camp (the message didn't say crappy, I put that in), or they can give up their immunity and keep living in their McMansion.
Having played "Survivor," this is an obvious choice — KEEP IMMUNITY AND STAY ONE PLAYER AHEAD ON RAVU!
But because Moto is a bunch of greedy pigs, they chose to give up immunity and vote someone off leaving them now even with Ravu. This might be one of the dumbest moves ever!
So dumb I can't even talk about this tribe anymore. Why would you want a perfectly sane tribe with no losses start to turn on each other this early for some rice and a king size bed?
At tribal council I wish Jeff would have dug into them a little more for this because it was a crazy decision. And an even crazier decision was the tribe's decision to vote off Liliana, one of the strongest members.
Good luck because this tribe is going to self destruct. Wait and see. I hope it's good ...
