"Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition" offers the most complete package for fans
Even with nearly ten years separating "Street Fighter III" and "Street Fighter IV," it seems Capcom hasn't missed a beat. Not only is the "Street Fighter IV" series often acclaimed as the best fighting game in decades, but it also has its own annual expanded editions customary to the titular fighting series.
"Super Street Fighter IV" and "Arcade Edition" may bring their own offerings to the series, but they don't exactly break the mold or change the formula. Luckily, they are meant to be just that, a more complete version of the original title. As such, all of the additions in "Arcade Edition" are available for download to owners of the original titles.
"Arcade Edition" brings with it four new characters to enjoy and master. While not as impressive as the ten new characters included in "Super," the game also sports some welcome changes to character balance and online play.
Online play is not mutually exclusive as it was with the original title and "Super." "Arcade Edition" players can play with owners of "Super" after adjusting their settings. This does take away the balance tweaking, but it is better than no cross-title play at all.
"Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition" is certainly the most complete package in the series. Die-Hard fans will want to upgrade and fans who were holding out on entering the fray should definitely pick up this version. Casual fans who already own either the original title or "Super" may not see the value.
"Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition" is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. It is rated T for Teen by the ESRB.
