Suicide Bomber Kills 12 Cops In Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka's military says a suspected Tamil Tiger suicide bomber on a motorbike has blown himself up near a police building in a northern town, killing 12 police officers and wounding 23 others.

Military spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara said Monday's bombing struck police officers and civilian bystanders on the street in the northern town of Vavuniya.

He says 19 of those wounded are also police and the rest are civilians.
