StunFone - a Stun Gun for Your iPhone?
NEW YORK (CBS)
A video is making the rounds online of a new iPhone accessory called the StunFone that turns your iPhone into a 90,000-volt stun gun. Jeff Esteghlalian, who is one of the co-founders of this so-called product, claims he's an MIT student.
Since uploading the video on November 3rd of him introducing the product and testing the taser on friends and even a karate expert, there has been an overwhelming response, mostly questions as to whether this is even for real. On his Twitter, he revealed that it took him a year to create, cost him $120,000 and says there's already a waiting list of over 10,000 for the product (which costs $24.99). From our e-mail exchanges, he also revealed that he's currently in Philadelphia dealing with the manufacturer, but will be back in Los Angeles shortly where he's based.
He will be giving a live demonstration of the StunFone on Friday, Nov. 12 and says he has "invited a slew of industry experts, including Steve Jobs himself (although we've yet to hear back haha). We want to make sure the emphasis is on this launch video and will be using our established online media outlets to push towards the livecast."
So whether this is a hoax or not, at least the video is slightly entertaining and yes it proves once again how far shock value goes on the web.
