Stephen Hawking responds to Eddie Redmayne's Oscar win

Eddie Redmayne wasn't the only person thrilled about his best actor Oscar win Sunday night.

Redmayne, 33, played the scientist Stephen Hawking in 2014's "The Theory of Everything." His portrayal of the genius dealing with ALS even grabbed the attention of Hawking himself after winning the prize at the 87th Academy Awards.

The professor also congratulated Redmayne when he won the Golden Globe for his role in the film. He posted this photo of them together:

Congrats, Eddie! If Mr. Hawking approves, you're definitely doing something right.
