Spurs Rock Jazz
Sean Elliott scored a season-high 15 points and the San Antonio Spurs overcame the absence of Tim Duncan to defeat the Utah Jazz 106-83 Saturday night and keep alive their slim hopes for a Midwest Division title.
David Robinson had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Spurs, who must win their final two games and hope Utah loses its final three in order to win the division.
Utah has lost three of its last four games.
San Antonio played its second straight game without Duncan, who is out with a slight tear of the lateral meniscus in his left knee. The Spurs are 3-3 without Duncan this season.

Karl Malone led Utah with 23 points, while Jeff Hornacek added 13.
After leading by 11 points at halftime, San Antonio opened the third quarter with a 10-2 run to lead 61-42 on two free throws by Mario Elie with 8:42 to play in the period.
After San Antonio stretched the lead to as many as 20 points, 69-49, Utah closed the third quarter with 10-6 run and trailed 75-59 after three quarters.
Robinson had four points early in the fourth quarter as San Antonio pushed the lead to 3-62 with 9:30 to play. Utah could get no closer than 16 points the rest of the way.
San Antonio closed the first half with a 10-4 run to lead 51-40 at halftime. Robinson had 15 first-half points to lead the way for the Spurs, which outscored Utah 28-17 in the second quarter.
