Sprint Customers: Google Voice Integration with Your Mobile Phone is Now Seamless

It was inevitable -- eventually, a mobile carrier would differentiate itself by partnering with Google Voice. It just so happens to have been Sprint which decided to pull the trigger.

If you have a Sprint phone, you can now use your Sprint mobile phone number as your Google Voice number with a single click, and without paying any additional fees. That's big news, because it means you can switch over to the powerful features found in Google Voice without losing the mobile number you and your contacts know.

It works both ways. If you already have a Google Voice number and would like to use it as your primary number instead, you can enable that number on your phone instead, and it will appear as your number instead of your old Sprint number.

We've lauded the advantages of Google Voice for a while now. The service lets you ring multiple phones and devices when a call comes in, set up rules for how to handle calls from certain people or at specific times of day, and transcribe calls and voicemail messages.
