SplashID Key Safe Keeps Your Passwords on Your Keychain

The SplashData SplashID Key Safe combines two of my favorite things: flash drives and password managers. It's a 2GB drive that looks like a key and comes preloaded with SplashID Password Safe (for both Windows and Mac).

The benefit, of course, is that your usernames, passwords, credit card numbers, frequent-flier numbers, and other critical data get to go where you go.

So let's say you're on a business trip and your laptop dies. Your only option for getting any work done is using one of the hotel computers -- but all your sign-in IDs, passwords, and the like were stored on your dead machine. No problem: just pop in the Key Safe and you've got access to your stuff. And when you pop it out again, all traces of your data go with it.

Of course, the Key Safe is more than just a portable password manager. It's also a 2GB flash drive, able to store whatever files you need to bring along.

This potentially lifesaving item (which I think would make a great gift) sells for $29.95. That strikes me as a bit pricey, but here's a way to cut your costs: If you hit the SplashData Facebook page and click Like, you'll get a coupon for $10 off.
