"Spilled Beer Murder:" Eduardo Adolfo Gonzalez killed man over spilled suds, gets life sentence
(CBS/AP) ORLANDO, Fla. - There is no use in crying over spilled milk, but Eduardo Adolfo Gonzalez decided to kill over spilled beer. For that, Gonzalez, 23, has been sentenced to life in prison for killing another man outside a bar, and plotting to kill the witnesses in his case.
According to officials, Gonzalez shot and killed Jamie Adair, 18, in May 2006, after one of Adair's friends was bumped and spilled beer on one of Gonzalez's friends at a bar near the University of Central Florida.
Gonzalez shot Adair and one of his friends, who survived, during a fight outside. Gonzalez also tried to hire a hit man to kill some of the witnesses. The supposed hit man was an undercover cop.
Gonzalez received consecutive life sentences Monday, after pleading guilty to murder with a firearm and attempted murder. He also received additional sentences for conspiracy and solicitation to commit murder and witness tampering.
