"Spider-man's" Reeve Carney is also in the band

Reeve Carney is starring on Broadway as Peter Parker in "Spider-man: Turn Off the Dark," which had its official debut this past week. So, who is the man behind the mask?

He's really a talented rocker who can sing and act - and he isn't too sore on the eyes either! A couple of years ago he was a singer in a bluesy rock band named Carney. He was spotted in New York City by former director Julie Taymor and he made his theater debut on Broadway on June 14.

Since Bono and The Edge wrote the music for "Spider-man: Turn Off the Dark," having a band involved was really essential for the success of the production. So Carney had the thrill of working closely with the two international rock icons.

Every night while Reeve rocks his chameleon role of Peter Parker, who is nerdy by day and a studly hero by night, he's backed up by his band mates in the orchestra. The band is made up of his brother, Zane on lead guitar, Jon Epcar on drums and Aiden Moore on bass.

In addition to rocking Broadway, Carney may just top the charts as well. The band's debut album, "Mr. Green Vol. 1," is out now on DAS Label/Interscope.

When Reeve isn't scaling buildings and saving damsels in distress as "Spidey" where else can you catch him?

He stars as the young prince Ferdinand in Julie Taymor's film adaptation of "The Tempest," as well as the film version of the acclaimed novel, "Snow Falling on Cedars."

You can also check out Carney when they perform at New York City's Bowery Ballroom on July 25 (show is 18+). They are also opening for U2 on the last date of their 360 Tour on July 30 in New Brunswick, Canada.
