Spain judge: Tell me if Israeli PM sets foot in country

MADRID -- A Spanish judge has asked police to notify him if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sets foot in Spain, suggesting a probe could be reopened of the 2010 Israeli attack on an aid boat heading to Gaza that left nine people dead.

Judge Jose de la Mata provisionally closed the investigation earlier this year, saying the case couldn't proceed under Spanish universal jurisdiction because those accused weren't physically in Spain.

But he asked police to inform him if Netanyahu and others implicated come to Spain.

The National Court said Wednesday that the judge's request was sent to police recently after it approved the judge's decision.

Three Spanish activists had asked the court to investigate Netanyahu and six Israeli officials for the attack on the Mavi Marmara vessel.
