NEW YORK (CBS) The dance floor was set ablaze on "So You Think You Can Dance" Wednesday night as the Top 11 finalists each paired up with an all-star for a shot at dance victory.

The dancing proved that the odd-numbered Top 11 were chosen for a reason; judges said they are some of the best competitors ever to grace the series' stage.

Alex Wong stole the show. Paired with Allison Holker, he danced to a Sonya Tayeh-choreographed piece that left Juge Nigel Lythgoe stunned and Wong in tears.

Judge Mia Michaels agreed, calling it "the best, hands down, piece of work ever" on the series.

The two-hour show ended with a contemporary routine choreographed by Tyce Diorio which included Ashley Galvan and Neil Haskell and a African jazz performance with Robert Roldan and Courtney Galiano that was both kinetic and moving. Judge Adam Shankman called Roldan "one of the best contemporary dancers we've ever had on this show."

The superlatives were heavy-handed this episode, leaving one to wonder what will happen on tonight's results show.
