Should You Use Fuser?

Fuser is a recently launched email and social network message aggregator. You plug in your logins and passwords and—presto!—all of your emails, wall posts, etc. show up in the same inbox. Sounds easy, but maybe a little discombobulating to deal with all of this information in one place. So should you use it?

The easy answer is that it depends. If you're a GTD disciple with tons of self discipline who only checks email and social networks a few times a day, you're probably not going to get too much of a value add from this product. But if you're more like me--someone who compulsively checks everything from Facebook pokes to the spam filters of barely touched email addresses--then a message aggregator is a pretty good way to save lots of time every day.

But is Fuser the right interface? That also depends. For the slightly older, less IM-happy crowd, I think the answer is yes. As one commenter on TechCrunch writes, "I thought email was dead but it seems this site turns everything back into email. Long live email!"

Fuser still has trouble accessing some of my stranger inboxes, so I can still waste time combing through them. It's also a little bit pokey in beta, but I bet that speeds up soon. If you're worried about aggregating all of your passwords in one place (which I am not, but many are), then it might be worth waiting as well. If you're not, try it out, and let us know what you think.
