Share Your Business Card Via SMS Using Contxts
Living as we do in the 21st Century, we're surrounded by laser cats and killer robots, exactly the way you'd expect. But surprisingly, many people still exchange personal information via cardstock business cards. Now you can use Contxts to send your personal information via SMS to anyone's cell phone.
Contxts is a free service that beams your personal information in a text message -- to use it, you can ask an acquaintance to text a message like "DANIEL" to 50500, where "DANIEL" is your Contxts username, or you can do it for them -- just text "SEND 2125551212" to 50500, where that 212 number is the recipient's phone.
The fact that you can do the work yourself is great, since my main complaint with Dub was that it forced your contacts to go out of their way to get your business card information. On the other hand, Dropcard is still the reigning champion of the electronic business card, since it synchronizes personal information with your recipients' address book -- Contxts leaves that info stranded in the SMS folder of their cell phone.
