Share and Store Files with Windows Live SkyDrive
Microsoft tends to make pretty boring choices when it comes to naming stuff, so imagine my surprise upon discovering that Windows Live Folders -- the company's online-storage service -- had been renamed Windows Live SkyDrive. Now that's a name! The service itself is attractive and robust, offering personal, shared, and public folders; drag-and-drop file uploading; password protection; and compatibility with both Windows and Mac systems and Internet Explorer and Firefox. The only downside? Microsoft gives you just 500MB of storage space. Hey, I'm not one to look a gift online hard drive in the mouth, but you can get 5 gigabytes of storage from loads of other services (including MyDataBus.com, XDrive, etc.). Even so, SkyDrive is worth a look if you want fast and easy file sharing/storage. [via Windows Live SkyDrive Team Blog]
