Send a Text-Message Reminder to Your Inbox with Kwiry

kwiry.jpgAs regular Business Hacks readers know, I'm a big fan of using Jott for personal reminders: If I remember something I need to do and I'm driving down the highway at the time, a quick call to Jott sends a reminder to my inbox. But what if I'm in the middle of a business meeting? Or at the opera? At times like those, I'd rather just tap out a quick text message.

Enter Kwiry, a free service that routes text messages from your phone to your inbox. Just shoot your reminder to KWIRY (59479) and the service sends you an e-mail. Click the embedded link and you get not only the reminder, but quick access to Google, Wikipedia, and other search engines (all of them already focused on the contents of your reminder). You can store and organize your "kwirys" online and even turn them into Outlook calendar entries.

Kwiry also has some social-networking features (natch: what service doesn't?), making it possible to share reminders with friends and co-workers. It's a handy little service, especially for those times when you need to remember something important but can't talk to Jott about it.
