Seinfeld To Tie The Knot

In a scene that could have been lifted from an episode of his old show, Jerry Seinfeld is reportedly engaged to a woman he began dating shortly after she returned from her European honeymoon with a wealthy Broadway producer.

Seinfeld proposed Saturday night to Jessica Sklar at a New York restaurant, according to reports Monday on the syndicated entertainment shows Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight.

No wedding date has been announced, and Seinfeld's Los Angeles-based spokeswoman did not return a telephone message.

Seinfeld and Sklar talk with composer Carole Bayer Sager at a Grammy party in February.

Seinfeld, 45, began dating the 28-year-old public relations executive in 1998 shortly after she returned from her Italian honeymoon with Eric Nederlander, a Broadway producer whose father owns six New York theaters and part of the New York Yankees baseball team.

Nederlander filed for divorce shortly thereafter.

Their romance has made consistent headlines in New York City tabloids, which had also chronicled Seinfeld's five-year relationship with Shoshanna Lonstein. That relationship began when she was 16.

Seinfeld has been living in New York since his self-titled sitcom ended its nine-year run on NBC last year.
