Second Cup Goes Broadway
On Sunday night, the 59th Annual Tony Awards will be handed out to Broadway's best and brightest.
To celebrate, the Second Cup Café is going Broadway. Marc Kudisch and Jan Maxwell, who've been nominated for Best Featured Actor and Actress in a Musical, will perform their duet "Chu-Chi Face" from the hit production, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." They play the Baron and Baroness Bomburst of Vulgaria.
"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" received a total of five Tony Award nominations. It is based on the story of a flying car written by James Bond scribe Ian Fleming. It was made into a movie starring Dick Van Dyke in 1968. The play started out in London three years ago and recently closed there. The Broadway version opened April 28.
This is Kudisch's second Tony nomination. The first one was for his performance in "Thoroughly Modern Millie."
You can catch the 59th Annual Tony Awards Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. Central on CBS
