Second Cup Cafe: We The Kings

We the Kings are the musical "rock royalty" of Bradenton, FL.

The American pop band's hit "Check Yes Juliet" shows their fun, youthful side with their video that's reminiscent of the days of trying to get the attention of your high school crush.

The band's depiction of sneaking out to a party and breaking the rules makes older fans want to go back in time and younger ones want to stay and relish in the moment.

"Check Yes Juliet" was featured as the free single of the week on iTunes, and about a month later it was featured in an episode of MTV's "The Hills."

The band is made up of Travis Clark (vocals/guitar), Hunter Thomsen (guitar/vocals), Drew Thomsen (bass) and Danny Duncan (drums).

The talented four, who first met in middle school, started jamming together while at Manatee High School during the early 2000s. After making the smart move to hire a manager, the band soared to the PureVolume Top 10 list.

The Internet was good to them, especially MySpace, and ultimately the band signed onto S-Curve Records, who released their debut self-titled album on Oct. 2, 2007.

Their album climbed to number three on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart and number 151 on the Billboard 200.

Their successes lead them to tour with Cobra Starship, Valencia, Just Surrender, Metro Station, Boys Like Girls, All Time Low, The Audition, Madina Lake, Mayday Parade, and Powerspace.

Their song "This Is Our Town" crossed over to TV and is featured in commercials for season of "One Tree Hill" and "Newport Harbor."

"We the Kings" will rock the entire duration of the Vans Warped Tour 2008, which will kick off on June 20.
