Screen Flicker Problem Hits New Droid X
Only days after its release, users are complaining about screen issues plaguing Motorola's Droid X.
The problems range from flickering to dead pixels on its 4.3 inch display. The Droid X has been in short supply around the country since the device went on sale last week. Verizon and Motorola can't be happy with this kind of publicity. The unit's screen size and crispness and size were two of the features approvingly cited by reviewers. (Here's a video made by one Droid X owner demonstrating the flicker problem.)
But in a statement released to the tech blog Engadget, Verizon acknowledged the problem but downplayed its severity.
"Verizon Wireless and Motorola are aware of a very small number of DROID X units that have experienced a flickering or banding display. Motorola has resolved the issue and is continuing to ship the phones. Any consumer who experiences a flickering or banding display should contact a Motorola customer support center or Verizon Wireless."
