Say Hello To Rev. Tori Spelling
Tori Spelling has a new role in life: ordained non-denominational minister.
As first reported by PerezHilton.com, last week Spelling was authorized to conduct weddings.
Spelling's publicist confirmed to The ShowBuzz that the actress was indeed ordained and this weekend she conducted a same-sex wedding at her inn, the Château La Rue, featured on her Oxygen reality show "Dean & Tori: Inn Love."
The wedding was taped for an episode in the upcoming season.
"I was so honored when the couple asked me to officiate," Spelling, 34, wrote on her MySpace blog. "We did it on the front steps of the Chateau as 40 of their friends looked on seated in a lounge like atmosphere. It was so beautiful as I united Tony and Dex as life partners in love."
Spelling wrote that she studied to become a minister through an online course and is expecting her certificate in the mail.
Performing the ceremony gave the actress jitters, she wrote. Spelling also wrote that the ceremony went off without a hitch and "there wasn't a dry eye" on the driveway where she wed the couple.
It was also a delicious affair.
Spelling wrote that the guest ate tapas of hanger steak, sea bass, vegetable lasagna and tuna tartare. They also sipped martinis and almond champagne. They danced to music from the '70s and '80s, and one of the grooms performed a number from "Cabaret." Spelling danced to Madonna with her son, Liam, and her husband, Dean McDermott.
The ceremony proved that "love is pure and true" and "knows no gender," she wrote.
"As I put Liam down to bed that evening I told him that he will one day find true love," she wrote. "A love that unites him as one with his soulmate. He will be raised knowing that true love is the ultimate and pure love know no age, gender, or race. I've found it, Tony and Dex have found it, and I wish love to all that seek it. Don't ever let anyone tell you who to Love. Only our hearts can dictate that."
