Save Money on Your Cell Phone Bill with Validas
If you cringe every time you see the monthly cellular bill in your mailbox, check out Validas. This intriguing services analyzes your bill and suggests ways you might be able to save money. For instance, if you're not using anywhere near your monthly allotment of minutes, it might suggest switching to a less-expensive plan. If you habitually exceed your monthly minutes, a pricier plan might be in order -- but at least then you wouldn't be paying overage charges. The service also looks for errors and other unwarranted charges.
To use Validas, download at least one monthly bill from your carrier, then upload it to Validas. The service generates a detailed report showing areas where you might be able to save money. From there you simply contact your carrier to make the recommended changes. Validas charges $5 for one bill upload and $10 for five bills. (The more bills you upload, the more precise Validas can be in its recommendations.) The first bill upload is free if you want to take the service for a spin. Alas, while it supports AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon, T-Mobile users (like myself) are outta luck. So it's up to you to try Validas and report your experiences here. [via jkOnTheRun]
