Save Important Web Content for Later with Magazinify
I know you love all the great content here on Business Hacks. I also know you're busy and don't always have time to read all these interesting posts. Wouldn't it be great if you could quickly earmark your favorites, then have them delivered for reading later, like at lunch or on the train ride home?
That's the idea behind Magazinify, a browser add-on that converts Web content into a kind of mobile magazine that arrives via email.
If that sounds a bit like Instapaper or Read It Later, well, it is. But those services, which similarly "clip" Web pages for later viewing, lack one key ingredient: delivery.
It works like this: as you browse throughout the day, you come across various news items, blog posts, business reports, and the like that you don't have time to read. So you click the Magazinify button (or bookmarklet), then go on about your business.
At the end of the day, week, or month (your choice), Magazinify formats all your selected pages into a kind of mobile magazine -- minus ads and other distractions -- then emails it to you as a PDF. That makes it easy to view on your PC, smartphone, tablet, e-reader, or whatever -- no additional app required.
Another interesting perk: You can add articles to your "magazine" by linking to your Twitter account. Just add your Twitter username to the Magazinify dashboard and it'll fetch links from up to 20 tweets -- a potentially neat way to see some surprising, unexpected, and worthwhile content.
A Magazinify plug-in is available for Chrome and Firefox. If you use another browser, just grab the Magazinify bookmarklet instead.
This is a pretty cool tool, though I wish it had the option of generating a new digest on-demand, rather than just at the end of the day. Even so, Magazinify is free, and definitely worth a look if you want a personalized Web 'zine delivered to your inbox.
