TORONTO (CBS/AP) Sarah Palin fans are not going to like Nick Broomfield's "Sarah Palin: You Betcha!," which is making its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The documentary depicts the Tea Party idol and former GOP vice presidential candidate as a woman with enormous personal charm but merciless vindictiveness.

Broomfield uses interviews with family - including her parents, and former friends and associates - to draw a picture of the former Alaska governor and mother of five. Palin comes across as a woman known for ruthlessly firing people and holding spiteful grudges, leaving many Alaskans afraid to talk about her for fear of reprisals, whether from Palin or her supporters.

The film screened Friday for reporters ahead of its official festival premiere Sunday.

It is one of several documentaries that are stealing the spotlight in Toronto this year. In fact, "From the Sky Down," the U2 documentaryby Davis Guggenheim," opened this year's festival.

Documentaries by Werner Herzog, Morgan Spurlock, Wim Wenders and Alex Gibney all will have premieres in Toronto next week.
