Samantha Torres Update: Missing 13-year-old Calif. girl found safe
(CBS) OXNARD, Calif. - Authorities in Oxnard say Samantha Torres, a missing 13-year-old girl, has been found safe, CBS Los Angeles reports.
Torres, who had been missing since May 4, was found Saturday around 7 p.m. walking near a Costco store in Oxnard, according to the station.
Oxnard Detective Luis McArthur wrote in a statement that the eighth grader was recognized by a passerby.
He added, "The girl was located after a lengthy police investigation and she is now reunited with her family. The Oxnard Police Department and the girl's family thank the public in helping to find her."
