It turns out that Tareq and Michaele Salahi weren't the only people who got into the Obama administration's Indian state dinner without an invitation: The Secret Service says a third person entered the dinner despite not being on the guest list.

The agency said in a media advisory that its investigation into the events surrounding the state dinner revealed that the individual, who has not been named, arrived at the dinner with the official Indian delegation. The person had come from the hotel where the delegation had been staying.

"This individual went through all required security measures along with the rest of the official delegation at the hotel, and boarded a bus/van with the delegation guests en route to the White House," according to the advisory.

A State Department official tells CBS News the individual was an American private citizen who was with a delegation of Indian CEO's at the hotel. The official identified the unnamed individual as a man.

The Secret Service says there is no evidence that the individual had contact with the president or first lady or that he or she went through the receiving line.

The agency said it would not be offering further comment on the uninvited guest because the situation relates both to its investigation into security for the state dinner and an ongoing criminal investigation.

The agency has already changed its procedures regarding foreign delegations in response to the security breakdown at the dinner.
