Run Windows or Linux on Your Mac with VMware Fusion

vmware-fusion.jpgIf you've got one of those spiffy Intel-powered Macs, here's some good news: VMware Fusion lets you run upwards of 60 different operating systems, 32- and 64-bit alike, on your machine. The software lets you run Windows applications from the Dock, create unlimited "virtual machines," use Snapshots to return to a previous state, and much more. Yes, it sounds a lot like Parallels Desktop 3.0, which offers a lot of the same features. However, Parallels sells for $79.99, while VMware Fusion will set you back just $59.99 (though that's after a $20 mail-in rebate). There's also a 30-day trial; Parallels limits you to 15 days. Either way, Macs are now a very viable option for businesses that traditionally rely on Windows software, and Windows software is now a very viable option for businesses that rely on Macs.
