Ronald Reagan's Son Starts "Reagan PAC"

(CBS/EARLY SHOW)
Michael Reagan, the oldest son of the late former President Ronald Reagan, has formed a political action committee with the goal of supporting politicians in the mold of his father.

The formation of the PAC was highlighted in a recent press release, Ken Vogel of Politico notes.

Reagan PAC is a "newly formed organization dedicated to finding and supporting Republican candidates that recognize the contemporary conservative principles of Pres. Ronald Reagan and are committed to their realization," reads the release, which focused on the conflicting views of the Reagan brothers.

Michael Reagan argues in the press release that his father would have supported the Tea Party movement and politicians like former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin because "his fundamental core beliefs about individual freedoms and liberties, and against government intrusion into the lives of citizens, were foremost on his agenda."

Michael Reagan's liberal brother Ron, on the other hand, recently said former President Reagan would have been "unamused" by the more hostile facets of the Tea Party movement.
