(CBS/AP) ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - A man allegedly attempting to rob a church gift shop lost his pants and was caught by a maintenance worker, deputies in Orange County, Fla. say, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.

Anthony Garcia, 32, is charged with robbery in the incident, which occurred Sept. 11 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the University in Orange County.

Police say Garcia went into the stop unarmed and demanded money, the station reports.

The church's maintenance director reportedly chased Garcia out of the store, but as he ran, he started to lose his pants and the director pulled them down, tripping Garcia.

The maintenance director was able to hold Garcia down until deputies arrived, the station reports.

"[The director] felt confident that he could knock the suspect down and pull his pants down because of the situation," said Jane Watrel of the Orange County Sheriff's Office, reports the station.

Garcia was booked at the Orange County Jail.
